In what some termed: cleansing of political opponents, the attack came following the cold murder of APC Chieftain Ahmed Gulak, who was on his way from Imo State.

Newsmen gathered that the armed men invaded the residence of Obioma in Abia State and strangled him to death.

The wife of the deceased, Elizabeth Obioma has also confirmed the incident to news men.

The wife said the suspected assassins came into their residence and murdered her husband without taking anything in the house, just after his return from Abuja, she added.

“The assassins came in and killed him and left without taking anything.” the wife stated.

The incident is coming few days after a former presidential aide and a party Chief of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was murdered in Imo State.

The Registrar who is in his late 60s hailed from Abia State. He was appointed as the Registrar of NECO just last month by President Muhammadu Buhari.
