President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that federal government will spend $400 million on Abuja-Borno State National ICT infrastructure backbone corridor (phase 2).
The President who was represented by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Prof. Ibrahim Pantami, made the reaffirmation during the commissioning and handover of the completed 66.10Km Gombe Kaltungo Road at Kumo Town, Gombe State recently.
President Buhari, stressed that his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development has again being brought to the fore.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Blessing Lere-Adams(FMWH), said President Buhari’s administration has given approval for the construction of the rail line from Borno to Rivers State, adding that the rail line was an area that lacked attention before the advent of this administration.
The Executive Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya commended the federal government for the completion of the Kaltungo-Gombe road project.
The Governor observed that the ministry had successfully completed several roads to ensure that road users have a rewarding travelling experience.
He added that the Gombe – Kaltungo road project had created jobs directly and indirectly as well as provided social economic benefits to the people.
