…Excitements rent air as Lafia, stakeholders wait for commissioning of N3.120bn facility

There is no disputing the fact that aroma of excitement is airfield today (4th Saturday 2023), at the Bukar Sidi road along JOS PLATEAU road as residents in Lafia, Násarawa State, as staff of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing and other stakeholders await President Muhammadu Buhari, his Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola and the State Governor Engr  Abdullahi Sule’s arrival to commission the newly completed Federal Secretariat in the state capital.

The project, situated on a 10.9 hectares, EXTRAORDINAIRE NEWS, learnt was awarded to M/S Faplins Nigeria Limited on December 9, 2011, at an original contract sum of N2,335,338,560.63, but revised to N3,120,718,297.93 in August 2020.

“The project was practically completed and taken over by the Ministry in September 8, 2022.

“The Secretariat has the potential to accomodate between 2,000 and 2,300 staff from several MDAs, who have already indicated to move into the new facility when commissioned today.” Organisers told EXTRAORDINAIRE.COM.
