SPACE AGENCY RECEIVES KUDOS FOR EXEMPLARY PERFORMANCE

The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), an agency of the Federal Government, has commended the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) for its outstanding performance in the just concluded assessment report.

The outcome of the report, BPSR, said epitomises NASRDA’s dedication to excellence and commitment to public service delivery.

In a statement by the Director, Media and Corporate Communication of the Agency, Dr Felix Ale, the Director General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Mr. Ibrahim Arabi, gave the commendation during the official presentation of NASRDA’s assessment report at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

Arabi, said the assessment report, conducted by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, thoroughly evaluated various aspects of NASRDA’s operations, including its efficiency, transparency, and service delivery in which the agency bagged a very remarkable score.

He emphasized that the Space agency has met its expectation in all area of responsibility adding that the general findings reflected excellence in the areas of leadership, relationship and responsiveness to stakeholders, efficient and reliable reporting and adequate systems and procedures.

The DG BPSRC, explained that the Space Agency has the best Procurement process in the Ministry of Innovation, Science and  Technology calling it a laudable feat, worth applauding.

Arabi, pointed out that NASRDA has set a good precedence for other agencies under the Ministry emphasizing that Public Institutions are the vehicle with which the government liaises with its citizens.

While congratulating and commending the NASRDA Director General on his good leadership, the Bureau of Public Service Reforms Boss appealed to staff and management of the Space Agency to keep up the good work, particularly on efforts towards proper articulation of the Agency’s strategy of objectives.

Arabi, who later presented an Organisational Self-assessment Tool Award to NASRDA on a Silver level performance of 71.25% to NASRDA Boss encouraged the agency to remain dedicated in harnessing the power of Space Science and Technology to address national challenges and promote socio-economic development of Nigeria.

In his response, the elated Director-General of National Space Research and Development Agency, Dr Halilu Shaba expressed gratitude for the recognition from the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, saying that the report reflects NASRDA’s commitment to excellence in its service delivery to the nation.

He said that the agency’s openness to constructive criticism and its unwavering commitment to its mission of advancing Space Science and Technology for the benefit of all Nigerians is indeed yielding great returns.

Shaba, pointed out that the Bureau of Public Service Reforms exemplifies the government’s commitment to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of public service delivery, assuring that the Agency will continue to do its best in meeting the expectations of the organization as well as basic requirements and tenets of other similar bodies for excellence and effective service delivery.

The NASRDA Boss re-echoed the determination of the Space Agency to continue in its pursuit of excellence and innovation in the field of Space Research and development for the greatness of our beloved country and overall benefits of Nigerians.
