KIDNAPPED SISTERS RELEASE: WOMEN MINISTER COMMENDS SECURITY, RESTATES FG’s COMMITMENT TO IMPROVED SECURITY

The Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister (Mrs) Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye has commended the Nigerian Security Agencies for its combined efforts that led to the release of the Bwari kidnapped sisters who had been placed under captivity for over two weeks

The Minister gave the commendation today when she visited the freed sisters at the Facility where they are being attended to in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja

She stated that the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration recognises the place of peace and unity in the growth as well as development of every nation and as such, is fully committed to ensuring that the present spate of crimes and criminalities in the country is brought to its barest minimum

The Head, Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Grace Njoku, in a statement said the Minister restated government’s commitment to the provision of improved security in the nation, Barrister Kennedy-Ohanenye called on the pepertrators of these nefarious acts to lay down their arms as government was working assidously towards ensuring the revitalization of the economy through job creation, poverty alleviation and social inclusiveness, among others

The Minister expressed government’s concern over the death of their sister and uncle, noting that it was a huge loss, not only to the family but the nation at large

She said: “The President, his Wife and the Federal Executive Council share in your pain and trauma as well as that of the entire Nigerian families who are passing through the same travail in the hands of kidnappers.” She said 

Kennedy-Ohanenye assured that government was fully committed to ensuring a safe and peaceful country for all and as the Ministry in charge of women, children and the vulnerable, it was making plans to meet with the family after their stay at the Facility, in order to provide them with the much needed moral and physical support that would give them a sense of belonging.

Responding, the Father of the released sisters, Mansoor Al-Kadriyar thanked the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration, security agencies and the Ministry, for their efforts to secure the release of his daughters as well as for the show of concern for his family

While thanking all Nigerians for their prayers and support dtring the period of the crises, Mr Al-Kadriiyar advocated for more synergy between security agencies in order to curb the incessant cases of kidnappings and killings that is going on in the country.

Highlight of the Visit includes the presentation of food stuffs, sanitary pads and toiletries to the family by the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister (Mrs) Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye.
