This the association says is in recognition of her meritorious and philanthropic service to humanity and the development of the entire community, in general.

The award ceremony took place in her office on Tuesday, during a courtesy visit by the Association led by its President, Dr. Emmanuel Jeminiwa.

The group expressed its appreciation to the HoSF for her unflinching support in promoting human capital and developmental projects in the community and in the country.

One of such projects is the upgrading of a Community Health Clinic to a Cottage Hospital, with a view to providing adequate health care to the people within the community.

Jeminiwa, stated that through the passionate intervention of the HoSF, the Iyah-Gbede community also benefited from medical laboratory equipment via a Federal Government Assisted Project to Kogi state. He added that she has helped the Community to achieve its dream project, stressing that her gesture and generosity will never be forgotten in the history of Okun Land.

Speaking earlier, Yemi-Esan, thanked the delegation for finding time to visit her and, most especially, for deeming it fit to confer on her the prestigious award.

She disclosed that rendering humanitarian services to communities will not only foster socio-economic development of the nation but also improve the standards of living and well being of the people.

According to her, ‘’I feel that any opportunity that God gives to us to help our communities should be seen as an act of God, and we need to do our best to strengthen the bond of development within our localities, especially when the needs are genuine, it is a welcome idea seeing a Community Health Centre upgraded to a Cottage Hospital.

“A Cottage Hospital should be the priority of every community because health is wealth and I am happy to be part of this monumental development in Iyah-Gbede,” she further added.

The HoSF enjoined the Association and the community, at large to ensure the sustainability of the project, adding that strategy for maintenance should be put in place to keep the facility functional. She pledged her continuous support to humanitarian services that will bring succour to the people of Iyah-Gbede.
