According to the Commission’s Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Reuben Muoka, said the temporary suspension of the three (3) categories of the communications licences has become necessary to enable the Commission conduct a thorough review of critical key areas within these categories.

According to him, this includes the current level of competition, market saturation and current market dynamics.

The Commission, he added is backed up with the statutory powers conferred on it through the Communications Act (NCA) 2003 to grant and renew licences, promote fair competition and to develop the Communications industry.
