…Imiyoho: former acting DG, urged staff to rededicate their commitment to the new DG to move the Office to next level

The newly appointed Director General/CEO of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), Dr. Obiageli Amadiobi, over the weekend, said her appointment by President Bola Tinubu as the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NOTAP was an act of God.
She said the appointment offers her an opportunity to contribute her quota in nation building as well as ensure the actualization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Present Tinubu.
Amadiobi, in her maiden meeting with staff of the Office, stated that as a mother, every staff of NOTAP is her child and that she will discharge that motherly role by offering a level playing ground for every staff to contribute positively to the development of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI
In a statement signed by Mr. Raymond Ogbu, on behalf of the Head, Public Relations and Protocol, said the new DG pledged to run an open door policy in the Office.
The new DG who was excited expressed delight on the warm reception from the staff since assumption of Office, adding that she has been adequately briefed by the directors and heads of departments on the activities and challenges of the Office and promised to do her best to actualize the mandate of the Office.
She pledged to work with all staff on individual as well as departmental level to bring the best in them for the benefit of the nation.
The new NOTAP boss who was a former Permanent Secretary, Imo State Ministry of Information and Strategy further stated that within the four years of her stewardship in NOTAP, she will embark on some restructuring to uplift the Office to a world class institution that will be a pride to the entire staff and Nigerians at large.
She tasked the directors to ensure that every approved project and programmes of the Office are fully executed, adding that departments should inculcate the spirit of team work to ensure that new programmes and projects are developed.
The DG urged all departmental heads to give periodic reports of the activities of their departments, achievements in concrete terms as well as challenges so that the Office will move forward.
Earlier in her welcome speech, the former acting Director General and Director Technology Innovation and Commercialization department, Dr. Idoreyin Imiyoho, appreciated the staff for the cooperation given to her during the period she acted.
She expressed the need to offer maximum support to whoever is in place of authority and engage in team work to ensure a speedy actualization of the mandate of the Office, adding that no organization achieves its set objectives without the dedication and cooperation of the staff.
In the same vein, the leadership of None Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), NOTAP branch represented by the Chairman, Mr. Okoro Champion, expressed the union’s readiness to work with the new Director General.
He pledged unflinching support and loyalty of the union leadership and its members to the new NOTAP leadership.
He used the opportunity to request the Director General to ensure a level playing ground for all staff to express themselves and contribute positively to not only the growth of the Office but development of the country.
The meeting was attended by over 90% of the staff and all were enthusiastic of a new era where every staff will be given a sense of belonging.
