TINUBU FIRES ‘HIGH PERFORMING’ ARASE AS ARGUNGU TAKES OVER CHAIRMAN POLICE COMMISSION

By Mohammed Mohammed

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

Mr. Solomon Arase, a lawyer and former Inspector General of Police (IG) who is now exiting because of directive from Presidency was seen as a high flier in his tenure both as Chairman of the Commission and also in the affairs of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) ostensibly because of the several ongoing reforms at the Commission.

The President has also approved the appointment of Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, as Secretary and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd) as Member of the Commission.
