AS BOSS, I ‘LL LEAD BY EXAMPLE, LAZINESS TO ATTRACT CONSEQUENCES-HOS TO CIVIL SERVANTS

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, has said that as Head of Service of the Federation, she will pilot the affairs of the Service by example through openness, value addition, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Speaking at a meeting with a cross section of some civil servants under the banner of the Joint Union Negotiation Council (JUNC) in Abuja on Tuesday, she reiterated: “My leadership style will offer support, encouragement and guidance for our collective interest of Nigeria.

She said: “We are committed to addressing issues that could negatively affect staff morale and productivity.

On laziness and indolence, Walson-Jack, said: “I will not tolerate laziness. There will be consequences for those who fail to perform their duties efficiently.”

On international benchmark, the Head of Service added that she will deploy creativity and innovation to transform the civil service into a world-class institution.

According to her, the implementing the Federal Civil Service Strategic and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021–2025 remains the central focus of her leadership.

She said: “But we are going to deploy creativity and innovation to achieve the vision. We shall be focusing on three core areas to achieve the FCSSIP-25.

“These areas are efficiency; accountability and transparency; and the wellbeing and development of staff.”
