Across the world, there is no doubt that demography on Nigeria’s Out of School (OoS) especially in Northern Nigeria is threatening and this is a swirling TIME BOMB. Without education for these children their easy recruitment into growing cells of bandits cannot be nipped in the bud.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, jetting out to UK because of these endangered young Nigerians is indeed a welcome an audacious development, auspicious even as it is timely if only this trip will partly be a balm to the grinding poverty, and the security concerns the nation is presently battling with across all fronts.
Spokesperson for the Minister, Mr Jonathan Eze, said Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has been scheduled to deliver a keynote address and join in the launch of the Community Children’s Fund (CCF) on Monday: January 20, 2025, at SOAS University of London.

Top on the agenda, Eze, said will be the launch of the Community Children’s Fund (CCF), a groundbreaking initiative designed to implement systemic changes that address the root causes of child vulnerability, fostering sustainable, long-term solutions for street-connected children.
Under her leadership, the Ministry, has spearheaded impactful programs such as the Nigeria for Women Project, a collaboration with the World Bank aimed at empowering women through financial inclusion, skills acquisition, and economic opportunities, he added.
At the SOAS event, the Minister will emphasize the urgent need to protect and promote the rights of vulnerable children, particularly those living on the streets or in rural communities. Her address will call for concerted efforts to tackle the systemic issues driving child vulnerability in West Africa.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s participation in this pivotal event reaffirms her dedication to advancing the welfare and rights of women and children not just in Nigeria, but across Africa.
