AFRICA WOMEN CONFERENCE 2025 SETS UP PLANNING C’TTEE

A planning committee for the Africa Women Conference (AWC) 2025 from Nigeria and other African countries has been constituted. 

AWC Co-convener, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, in a statement, said members of the planning committee include: Aisha A. Adamu, Chairperson, Joseph Yaba, Blessing Ogogo Ugbem, and Shetu J. Gamaliel. 

She said the purpose is to provide a structured approach for planning and executing the 2025 Africa Women Conference, revealed that at the last AWC in Zambia it was decided that, to demonstrate their ability to build the next generation and provide opportunity to express their leadership skills, the AWC Next will be the ones to plan for AWC 2025, hence the choice of Aisha Adamu as Chairperson.

Ahmadu, further stated that while ensuring alignment with the conference’s goals of empowering women and addressing critical issues affecting women across Africa, other members will be identified by the committee from across other Africa countries. 

“This decision is part of our practical mentorship program to empower the next generation of African women for purposeful leadership. It is very important to note that the Africa Women Conference Next Generation are responsible for the planning of this year’s conference

“We are not just planning an event but to pave the way for a future where women across Africa can thrive, lead, and inspire.

“Our diverse committee embodies the strength, creativity, and resilience of women from all corners of our continent. Together, we will create a platform that amplifies voices, shares experiences, and fosters collaboration” the statement said. 

Furthermore “This conference will be an opportunity to address the challenges we face, showcase our successes, and empower one another. It is a call to action for gender equality, economic empowerment, and social change.

“As we embark on this journey, let us be guided by our shared vision i.e. one of unity, growth, and progress. I believe that through our collective efforts, we will make a meaningful impact on the lives of women everywhere” .

While thanking committee members for their commitment and passion, she craved them to create an unforgettable conference that will inspire generations to come.
