NWAKUSO ASSUMES DUTY AS PERMANENT SECRETARY, SWO, PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO SERVICE

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), has welcomed a new leadership era as Mrs. Patience Oyekunle Nwakuso, officially assumed duty as Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office (SWO), following her appointment and swearing-in by the President, Bola Tinubu. 

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Nwakuso, expressed deep gratitude to God and appreciation to the President for entrusting her with this responsibility. She emphasized her commitment to fostering a collaborative and productive work environment by ensuring that the Service Welfare Office fulfills its mandate.

She said, “I am here to work with you all in building on the solid foundation already in place, to drive impactful reforms and enhance the welfare of civil servants”. 

Recognizing the dedication of the staff, Nwakuso, assured them of her open-door policy and her intention to work closely with all stakeholders in advancing the objectives of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP-25), particularly Pillar 6, which focuses on improving civil servants’ value proposition.

The Director who has been overseeing the office, Dr Comfort Adeosun, in her opening remarks earlier, provided insights into the operations of the office, highlighting the critical role it plays within the civil service structure. She urged staff members to extend their unwavering support to the Permanent Secretary. 

Adeosun, thanked the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, for her unwavering support while she oversaw the SWO and prayed for God’s grace for the  Permanent Secretary in joining the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in the march to the envisioned greatness of the Civil Service
