The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Tijani Bosun, has called on governments across the three tiers, industry players, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to join hands in support of Federal Government as it hosts the 2025 International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV) edition.
The Minister who made the disclosure via the Ministry’s website over the weekend, said Nigeria’s selection by the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) to host the international event validates government’s efforts to drive digital transformation and innovation in governance.

He expressed confidence that the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) serving as the Local Organiser for the auspicious event will provide platform for the much needed knowledge, capacity building and policy dialogue.
This according to him, reinforces Nigeria’s strategic role in shaping the future of e-governance, Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and sustainable digital transformation.
He said: “I’m a firm believer in the importance of the academia and research in supporting discussion on e-governance and we have seen this in some of the inputs in government initiatives like the National AI strategy and the National Digital Economy and e-Governance Bill which are laying the foundation for the growth of Nigeria’s Digital Economy.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry awaits the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy to get the date and month for the conference straightened out as Spokesperson for the Ministry, Mr. Osibo Imhoitsike hinted in a telephone call on Sunday.
