NEW ACCOUNTANT-GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION EMERGES FRIDAY

…5 Candidates in knife-line battle February 14

By Friday 14, February 2025, the next Accountant General of the Federation would have emerged following the keenly selection process for the appointment for that strategic which became vacant for sometime now.

Five candidates is said to have successfully advanced to the oral interview.

This development according to the Office of the Civil Service of the Federation, is said to follows the conclusion of the ICT proficiency test conducted for the ten candidates who passed the initial stage of the selection process.

The oral interview is scheduled to take place on Friday, 14th February 2025. This stage will serve as a critical evaluation of the candidates’ leadership abilities and strategic vision for managing the office of the Accountant-General.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has commended the rigorous and transparent approach adopted throughout the selection process.

She expressed satisfaction with the professionalism demonstrated so far, highlighting that the ICT proficiency test was conducted on a merit-based platform to ensure that only the most qualified candidates advanced.

Mrs. Eno Olotu, Spokesperson for the Office, in a statement made available early this morning (Monday), quoted the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Didi Walson-Jack, as saying: “This process underscores the commitment to upholding accountability, equity, and excellence in public service appointments.

“I am pleased with the progress we have made and confident that the oral interview will help us identify the best candidate for this critical role,” the Head of Service stated.” Walson-Jack, said.

Additionally, the oral interview for the seven (7) Permanent Secretaries who previously qualified will also be held on Friday, 14th February 2025.
