The Okun Development Association (ODA) has expressed their heartfelt sadness over the tragic Felele road accident in Lokoja, which claimed the lives of several students, not too long.
The National Publicity Secretary of ODA, Mr. Dayo Thomas, extended the association’s heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, hoping they find strength from GOD Almighty during this incredibly difficult time.

ODA is urging the relevant authorities to take immediate action to prevent further loss of innocent lives. This includes implementing safety measures and conducting a thorough investigation into the accident’s cause. They also call for compensation for the families of the victims.
The Spokesperson said the association is particularly concerned about the alarming frequency of fatal accidents on Felele Road, adding that the association appeals to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Kogi State Government, and other agencies to collaborate on addressing this critical issue.
By working together, they can prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future and ensure the safety of all road users, he added.
In another development, ODA, has paid a heartfelt tribute to two Nigerian legends, who passed on recently: Pa Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Edwin Clark, celebrating their remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s stability and development. The association acknowledged their tireless efforts in promoting national unity, progress, and the well-being of Nigerians, leaving an indelible mark on the country’s history
ODA commended the exemplary leadership and vision of Adebanjo and Clark, which have inspired generations of Nigerians.
Their legacy continues to motivate and guide the nation towards a brighter future. The association prays that their contributions to Nigeria’s development will never be forgotten, ODA, said.
The Spokesperson said, ODA has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the Okun people, prioritizing their safety and security above all else.
This renewed pledge comes after the association’s National Executive meeting, chaired by President General Ambassador Akeson.
As the apex association representing the Okun people globally, ODA recognizes that security is crucial for progress and prosperity, he added.
To address recent security challenges, ODA promises to collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, traditional leaders, and other organizations.
According to Thomas, the association urges the Okun people to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and calls on the government to intensify efforts to tackle insecurity in Okunland.
He said: “By reaffirming its commitment to security, ODA demonstrates its dedication to creating a secure environment for the Okun people’s growth and prosperity.”
