In appreciation of the several achievements and strides attained through hardwork and integrity, a group: Unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria Initiative (URNI), has rolled out the drums to celebrate the life of Ambassador, Hassan Tukur, who clocked 64, as a man that deserves honour.
Amb. Tukur, who is the patron of URNI is synonymous with integrity, innovation, altruism and philanthropism that has endeared him to millions of Nigerians in different parts of the country and in the Diaspora.
His forthrightness also earned him the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), bestowed on him by the Federal Government.
In a statement signed by URNI’s Programme Manager, Mr. Abdulkadir Lawal, he described the Ambassador as a diplomat per excellence, who has diligently served the country in multiple capacities in the diplomatic core and in other other parameters where he left his footprint in the sand of time.
The group applauded his indelible milestone in his services to the nation which spans over 3 decades and still counting even after retirement from public service.
They described the Unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria Initiative programme as a novel set up under the watch of the ambassador, with the intention to seek, to propagate several strategies, and to showcase the true potentials of Nigeria, her people, and heritage to the world.
The Initiative aims to leverage on ICT and other media strategies to unveil and market Nigeria to the world as a dynamic, rich and multi-faceted country having vast potentials for achieving greatness.
Over the years Tukur, has proved himself a worthy envoy, representing the country in various capacities through the numerous portfolios he has handled.
According to URNI, the Ambassador has through his meritorious services, bridged ties between Nigeria and several country’s diplomacy.
They commended his humility and love for humanity, adding that Tukur stands out as one of Nigeria’s most distinguished envoy of all time.
Upon his return from diplomatic assignments overseas to the country in 2005 and not tired of serving his country, to took another appointment as Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
He was later appointed Secretary, National Energy Council and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Energy Partnership in September 2007 till June 2010 before emerging as Principal Secretary to former President of Goodluck Jonathan in 2011.
The group prayed that Almighty God will grant him many more successful years to project the nation towards greater heights.
