10TH DIGITAL COMMUNICATION DISTRUPTION: NCC, Dataphyte Move to Support Project

In less than 24 hours’ time: (September 6) the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) will roll out the 10th edition of its annual programme in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

ACSPN General Secretary, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, in an information made available on website, said the programme which is billed to commence at the Radio House in Abuja, has as its Theme: ‘Digital Communication Agenda and Nigeria’s Transformation.’

A special panel of experts and technophiles will be trashing out critical issues on Big Data (BD), Internet of Things (IoTs) and Digital Safety in Nigeria. Speakers are expected from the 6 geopolitical zones of the country.

The Association notes with gratitude and excitement the support from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and Dataphyte, a private ICT concern that is making impact in Nigeria’s digital space.

MEANWHILE…Nigeria, through Africa’s most respected regulator of telecommunications operators, NCC, is set to play host to 54 African nations and other continental Internet governance stakeholder blocs at the 2023 Africa Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF 2023) in Abuja from 18th to 21 September, 2023.

This year’s event, which is the 12th edition of the annual forum, is scheduled to take place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, with the theme, “Transforming Africa’s Digital Landscape: Empowering Inclusion, Security, and Innovation”.

The Forum, EXTRAORDINAIRENEWS learnt will serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration on Internet Governance among various sectors and regional initiatives to advance digital connectivity, address Internet Governance challenges, and empower Africa through digital transformation. 

The event will be preceded by the African Youth Internet Governance Forum, which will take place from 13-18 September, 2023.
