…Adigwe, others pledged 100% support to the new permamnent secretary

The new Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Environment, Mr. Adam Mahmud Kambari, has pledged to implement President Bola Tinubu’s performance contract bond and full digitization of the operations of the Ministry of environment to the letter.
Kambari, made the pledged while being received by the Overseeing Director of the Ministry, Mr. Lawrence Adigwe and other senior Diredctors at the Ministry’s Headquarters on Monday in Abuja.
He said: “As the Permanent Secretary in this Ministry, I sincerely pledged my loyalty and commitment to Nigeria, our fatherland. I will rely on the expertise from the Directors, management and staff of this Ministry to deliver on the President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“As we embark on this journey together, I want to commend the incredible work that has been done by every one of you and the cordial relationship that you all have with the two Ministers.”
There is no doubt that the Ministry has a rich history of achievements and I’m committed to building upon this, he added.
He expressed optimism that the cordial relationship will continue to take Nigeria to greater height, adding that civil servants and as CEOs, this is highly commendable.
“I’m convinced that the same cordial relationship that I had with the Office of the Welfare Office in the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation will be replicated and even get better here.
“I’m ready and committed to implementing the Ministerial Performance Bond that we signed with President Bola Tinubu.
“That performance is a very serious issue with the present administration because we shall be assessed on quarterly basis.
“The government is taking this bond very seriously and it is a mechanism for assessing the Ministers, the Permanent Secretaries and the Directors.” The Perm Sec, said.
Kambari, added that non compliance with the performance bond will attract severe consequences and such person may be shown the way out of the Ministry.
According to him, every department must have their targets. I will be committed to implementing the Presidential Performance Bond for 2023 to 2027 as signed by the President Tinubu in alignment with the activities of the Ministry.
To achieve this noble objectives, he said it will entail strong commitment to drive the full realization of the the Federal Government’s civil service reform through the digitization programme as being implemented by the Head of Service, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan.
He was unequivocal that he wants to be remembered for the Ministry’s full digitization of its operation when his tenure comes to and end, adding: “This government is too commitment to the digitization of it operations because it is one of the pillars on which a modern civil service is driven.
“In fact, where I came in HoS we no longer have files as our operations is now online.
“The legacy that I want to leave behind in this Ministry is digitization of all government processes and operations. The earlier we accept digitization the better for all of us.
“Government is serious about this and they attach timeline to its implementation that anybody who is not ready for the digitization process of the federal government will be shown the way out.”
“I will welcome suggestions and advise on how to move the Ministry forward and will engage with local and international partners towards fulfilling the mandate of the Ministry.
“This can also be achieved if we work as a team following extant rules and regulations.
“I can see unity and team work in this Ministry and this is commendable, let us keep it up and it is a legacy.
“We shall be united in a common purpose I will work tirelessly to achieve an extraordinary goal and hoping that with your professional expertise we shall usher a new era of success story. He said.
In a remark before proper handing over, Adigwe, said: “We have come to let you know that we will work with you and support you.
“The crop of men and women that you see in this room are dedicated men and women who know their onions, you are therefore in safe hands.
“We are going to work and cooperate with you listen to you because this is one Ministry that parades the best in the system as the staff are committed and I can assure you that your coming here is not a mistake.”
He said: “We pledged our loyalty that as long as you are here as PS you have our support 100%.”
