The Minister of Works Engr. David Umahi, has stressed that inter-ministerial collaboration even between agencies and parastals of federal government will go a long way in bridging the gap that had existed in Nigeria’s infrastructural roll-out and development.
Recall that in his innovative drive in the Ministry, Engr. Umahi, has factored the overarching role, professionalism and expertise of members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Nigerian Journalists and other stakeholders into the holistic drive of road development in the country.
The Minister underscored this imperative while playing host to the Minister of Environment, Mr. Balarabe Lawal.
While driving home the essence of closing the deficit as part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda mantra, Barr. Orji Unchenna Orji, the SA to the Minister on Media and Communications, while quoting his boss, said the meeting which was held behind closed doors is no doubt part of the innovative initiatives of the Tinubu Administration.
He acknowledged that this initiative is geared towards fostering a sense of inter-ministerial collaboration and thinking out of the framewall of the box in tackling different developmental challenges facing the nation.
He said: “The mandate of the Federal Ministry of Environment which focuses on innovative strategies that emphasize the use of environmental re-engineering as a veritable tool for job creation, poverty eradication, food security, sustainable economic development and general improvement in the livelihood of Nigerians requires a great deal of the works sub- sector to be actualized.”
