PROF IKE-MUONSO IN STRATEGIC RMRDC REPOSITIONING FOR GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS ATTAINMENT

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer (DG/CEO, of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof Nnanyelugo Martin Ike-Muonso, over the weekend demonstrated his unwavering determination to reposition the Council to become globally competitive in raw materials development.

He acknowledged that the repositioning will conform to the ongoing Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, predicated on sustainable industrial development and economic growth of Nigeria.

The DG/CEO made the disclosure at the start of a two-day strategic goal setting session with senior management staff of the Council in Abuja. 

Ike-Muonso, reminded participants drawn from Directorate cadre and Heads of Divisions that RMRDC occupies a critical position in Nigeria’s economic and industrial development aspirations.

He emphasized that the Council must begin to take its rightful place in the nation’s quest for rapid economic growth and development as well as strategically position itself as a key player in the globally competitive raw materials marketplace.

According to the RMRDC boss, the strategic goal setting session with management staff was the first step in achieving his goal of repositioning the Council as a globally competitive player in raw materials development.

Ike-Muonso, pointed out that RMRDC has what it takes in terms of skilled manpower, dedicated workforce and a robust legal framework to achieve these goals and objectives. He called on participants to embrace the new paradigm in their way of thinking and attitude to work and excellent service delivery, noting that it will not be business as usual.

The two-day strategic goal setting session had experts drawn from the academia and industry engaged with staff on creating a practical and measurable roadmap for the Council that will propel it to optimal achievement of its visions.
