KENYA CRISIS: APRA IN RECONCILIATORY MOVES, CALLS FOR URGENT STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENT

As a win-win solution to the crisis that recently escalated resulting in deaths of handful of Kenyans, in Nairobi, the African Public Relations Association (APRA) has called for an all stakeholder’s engagement to resolve the firestorm.

In a statement made available to the media, Omobayo Azeez, quoted the Secretary-General of the Association, Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan, as urging the Government of Kenya to shift ground by putting the people of Kenya first.

The Public Relations Guru, averred that in a show of conversational capacity as already indicated by the Presidency, stakeholders should come together for consultations with empathy and an openness for reconciliation.

Dr. Ibietan, said: “The Executive Council and Members of APRA condole with all Kenyans in general over the recent crisis that happened in the Republic of Kenya.

“Also, we stand in solidarity with our colleagues in the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK).

“We urge the Government of Kenya to put the people of Kenya first and in a show of conversational capacity as already indicated by the Presidency, undertake stakeholder consultations with empathy and an openness to reconciliation.

“We commiserate with the families of those who died and wish a speedy recovery to those injured during the protests. We fervently pray for the repose of the souls of the deceased.”
