There was excitement over the weekend as the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd and INQ, a private satellite operator ramped up collaboration aimed at enhancing seamless digital connectivity in the remotest parts of Nigeria and across the continent.
Recall that NIGCOMSAT Ltd has been acclaimed and recognised as the premier agency to drive the Federal Government’s connectivity initiatives in both rural and urban areas across Nigeria.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, INQ, Mr. Ifeanyi Akosionu gave the commendation during a courtesy visit by his company to the MD/CEO of NIGCOMSAT Ltd, Mrs. Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, at the NIGCOMSAT Headquarters in Abuja.
Akosionu, highlighted NIGCOMSAT as the sole entity capable of delivering the federal government’s connectivity goals, particularly in rural regions, even as he identified that there are several developmental gaps in Nigeria as a nation.
He expressed excitement about the potential outcomes of working with NIGCOMSAT as, according to him, both enterprises are motivated to enhance digital connectivity in the remotest parts of our nation and continent.
The Head, Corporate Affairs, in NIGCOMSAT, Aisha Bantam, in a statement quoted THE INQ boss as saying: “I am very proud to embark on this journey with a highly reputable public sector partner under the exemplary leadership of Mrs. Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen,” he stated.
In her response, Egerton-Idehen, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with INQ Nigeria Ltd, emphasising NIGCOMSAT’s capacity to significantly improve connectivity for Nigerian citizens and the broader continent.
She noted that the market is ripe for such collaboration and that the partnership marks a promising beginning.
The MD reiterated the need for the business partnership to remain focused and committed to achieving the shared goals.
