FIRE OUTBREAK: WORKS MINISTRY TRACES CAUSE TO FAULTY CIRCUIT BREAKER, SAYS NO LOSS RECORDED

The Director, Press and Public Relations, at the Federal Ministry of Works, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed, on Friday acknowledged that there was fire outbreak around 11:30 am today (Friday) at the Headquarters of the Ministry in Mabushi, Abuja.

Ahmed, in a statement made available to the media, said the incident was however minor which did not record any loss.

The Director, said: “This is to report that a minor fire incident occurred at about 11: 30 am at the Block A of the Ministry.

“The incident was as a result of a spark from a faulty Circuit Breaker in the Electrical Control Room on the ground floor.”

He added that the station commander, Federal Fire Service, Federal Ministry of Works, Headquarters, Mr. Kekai Bekebi, responded swiftly and his team was able to curtain the fire from from spreading.

“There was a quick response from his team, who were able to put the situation under control by deploying available fire extinguishers.” He said.

He added that a successful evacuation exercise of staff was also carried out.
