Dr. Dora Akunyili’s husband, Killed in Anambra

Dr Chike Akunyili, the husband to the late Prof. Dora Akunyili, a former Federal Information Minister, but more popularly known for her works as the Director-General of the National Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Anambra state on Tuesday.

According to reports, Dr Chike was killed on his way from Onitsha, the reports which is sketchy however confirmed his death as no reason has been established by the Police for his assassination.

It was also learnt that his escort and driver were also cruelly killed in the attack.

Akunyili had attended a lecture at Sharon Hall, All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, which was put together by the University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association (UNAA), Onitsha branch, in honour of his late wife, Dora.
