NASENI IN LEADERSHIP TWIST: TINUBU Relieves Gwandu of Appointment, Youthful Halilu Now to Pilot Agency

…Approves immediate replacement of NDDC’s Ondo nominee Akinjo, with Atikase.

Coming too early and in a new twist when the former ECV/CEO, Prof. Mohammed Haruna, was forced out of office by the immediate former President Muhammadu Buhari out office, Dr. Bashi Gwandu was appointed to relieve him even at the twilight of that administration.

In another curios development, President Bola Tinubu on Friday approved the appointment of youthful Khalil Suleiman Halilu as the new Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).

Attempts to get clarification on the development on Friday afternoon was blurred by the Deputy Director, Information Unit, Mr. Chima Akwaya, who promised to call back in 20 minutes as he said he driving then didn’t materialize. Akwaya didn’t get back to this Reporter, even as we hit press time.

Remembrance

The new appointment put paid to Gwandu’s appointment as EVC/CEO of the agency came at the at the twilight of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration.

 In a statement made available to EXTRAORDINAIREPEOPLE.COM, signed by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, said: By this appointment, Khalil Suleiman Halilu will serve for an initial term of five years in accordance with the relevant sections of the NASENI Act, 2014.

 Halilu, 32, he said is expected to bring his significant experience as an innovator and technology expert to bear in this important new national assignment.

 He said: “The tenure of Dr. Bashir Gwandu as EVC/CEO of NASENI is hereby terminated.

 “By the directive of the President, this appointment takes immediate effect.” the statement added.

MEANWHILE, PRESIDENT TINUBU AMENDS NDCC BOARD AND MANAGEMENT NOMINATION LIST

 President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate replacement of the NDDC’s Ondo State Representative nominee, Mr. Victor Akinjo, with a new Ondo State Representative nominee, Hon. Otito Atikase.

 The President has equally approved the immediate replacement of the NDDC’s Cross River State Representative nominee, Mr. Asi Oku Okang, with a new Cross River State Representative, Rt. Hon. Orok Otuk Duke.

Furthermore, the immediate past Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, is reappointed to a second term and will remain in acting capacity, pending the Senate’s confirmation of his reappointment.
