The Director General, Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, has called on Government and the Organise Private Sector (OPS) to actively advance the cause of women rights, especially with their involvement and participation in governance.
According to the DG, women over the years have been very active at the threshold of change in the political climate, hence the need to support their call for more inclusion and participation in Parliament.
He further acknowledged that women in Nigeria have been clamouring for inclusiveness in governance at all levels, adding that their involvement as agent of change will bring about the much desired change and peace in the country.

Dr. Ochogwu, stated this at the flagship campaign of 74 Seats for Women in Parliament held today (Thursday 27) in Abuja.
The Campaign was organized by the League of Women Voters (NILOWV) and National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter.
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) in charge of Press and Public Relations, Josephine Ademu, in a statement quoted the DG as saying that the Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution ( IPCR) has been actively involved in the promotion of women inclusion in governance, Peace building and conflict resolution in Nigeria.
He noted that there is a virtue in a woman if given the opportunity to be at the table of leadership things will change for the best.
He then urged women to be persistent in their quest to secure more seats at the Parliament, that with time their request will be considered.
