In a no hold barred interview, the Special Senior Assistant (SSA) to the President on Niger Delta, Senator Ita Enang, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Peoples Congress (APC) and the country’s ruling elite have failed and provoked the youths.

In an interview monitored in TV station in Abuja, he said: “We need to apologies to them and on my little part I apologies to them for the little we did not do at certain time and please let return back to the table.

The Chief Press Secretary to the SSA, Mr. Edet Ekpenyong, quoted his boss as saying: “We, the leaders and elders have provoked the youths of this country, we did not plan for them, no government in this country PDP or APC can excuse himself for what is happing now.

“When we were busy educating our children in the best of schools, what did we do for them, when we were busy thinking of the welfare of our children.

“The best love we can give to our children is to train the children of other people who will live with our children otherwise, they would constitute danger to our children and our children would not have peace and that is what we are witnessing today.”

On way forward, the SSA, called on state governors to meet with all the youths for a roundtable dialogue as a way of addressing the volatile times confronting the country.

He urged the governors to utilize the meeting to tell the youths about the various programmes they are doing for them adding that “we now have to apologies for them, because there were times in this country when we missed out on taking care of them and so they are angry.

Enang, lamented: “The state government were complacent noting that governors from the beginning were happy to be governors and controlling money while paying lips services to education and welfare of children.”

He lamented that at the level of the states, insecurity would have been curb but now we are bearing the brunt of bad governance arising from the failure of the state government to do the needful at ward, Local government and the State level”

So, we are collectively reaping the fruit of bad governance at the state level while President Buhari is now saddled with the responsibility to finding solution to the problem. By God grace he is providing the solution.

He called on the state government to take responsibility and stop pushing everything to the federal government as these problems is happing at the level of local and the states. Adding that it is a burden in which both state and federal government must shoulder.

Meanwhile, the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has commended Senator Ita Enang, Secretary, Presidential Implementation Committee for Autonomy of State Judiciary and Legislature for his support during the period of her industrial action to press home her demands for free, strong and independent judiciary in Nigeria.

This is contained in a letter of appreciation by JUSUN to the Secretary of the Presidential Implementation Committee, signed by the Deputy President of the Union, Comrade Emmanuel Abisoye and General Secretary   I, M Adetola.
