Gruesome Killing in Katsina: Buhari Says Murderers Must be Found

In what obviously appeared as disgusting daily occurrence of bizarre killings of innocent Nigerians across the country which has made many to now describe Nigeria as one unstoppable killing field and slaughter slab.

This evil report is coming less than 24 hours after about 30 innocent travelers were for no reason burnt to death by yet to be identified persons in Sokoto State, the Katsina State Commissioner of Science and Technology, Dr. Rabe Nasir.

Nasir, was heinously assassinated on Thursday evening by unknown gun men at his residence at Fatima Shema Housing Estate of Katsina State.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who was utterly shocked at the killing has swiftly responded to the reported assassination, this evening (Thursday) of the Katsina State Commissioner of Science and Technology, Dr. Rabe Nasir, describing his killing as a heinous and condemnable act, adding that there is no place for such violence in our country. This is as stated by Mallam Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media and Publicity.

Shehu, averred that the President, is deeply anguished by the tragic killing of this up-and-coming leader who had served his community, state and the nation with utmost diligence.

“My thoughts are with the bereaved family,” the President said.

He urged the law enforcement agencies to do a thorough investigation and bring to justice all those who are behind the crime.

However, as at the time of filing this report, security operatives are said to be battling to break into his rest room where the deceased is suspected to be locked and killed. 

The Governor of the State, Alh. Aminu Masari, along with security chiefs and other government functionaries are said to be within the deceased residence.
