“For us as healthcare practitioners and leaders in healthcare in Nigeria, this has come at an auspicious time – a time when we are grappling with the ripple negative effects of brain drain, and with negative stereotypes about ‘home grown’ medical practitioners.”

She added, “Dr. Osahon Enabulele is a purebred Nigerian physician of whom we are proud.”

According to the Commissioner, “Dr. Enabulele’s election and installation as President of the World Medical Association should strengthen the resolve of those of us who still believe in Nigeria and in the medical profession in our country.”

Akoria noted, “Healthcare practitioners, doctors especially, face myriad challenges, and we look forward to a tenure – under the leadership of Dr. Osahon Enabulele as President of the World Medical Association – when more physicians will be happy, and feel supported and protected as they work to improve public health locally, nationally and globally. Hearty congratulations, ‘Lion Killer.’”
