The former Adviser, added: “With more roads tarred than in any previous administration, the governor has demonstrated a commitment to improving transportation infrastructure and connectivity. These road projects have not only enhanced intra-state mobility but also facilitated economic activities, attracting investments and boosting commerce within and beyond the state.

“Obaseki recognized that a well-functioning civil and public service is crucial for effective governance. To that end, he embarked on comprehensive civil service reforms, focusing on staff training and retraining. By investing in the professional development of civil servants, the governor has ensured that the workforce is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver efficient and quality services to the citizens of Edo State.

“This has resulted in improved service delivery and enhanced public trust in government institutions.” He said.

According to Oni, governor Obaseki’s administration has prioritized the development of institutions and infrastructure to support sustainable growth and attract investment. Notable initiatives include the establishment of the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Center, the Edo Innovation Hub, and the Edo Production Hub.

He said these institutions serve as platforms for creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship, fostering economic diversification and job creation. Furthermore, the promotion of vocational skills through the Edo Jobs Hubs has empowered youths with the necessary tools to succeed in various industries, including the booming ICT sector.

“Governor Obaseki’s commitment to manpower development has been commendable. His administration has made significant investments in training and skills acquisition programs, equipping individuals with the expertise needed to excel in various fields. This focus on human capital development has not only reduced unemployment rates but has also positioned Edo State as a hub for skilled labor, attracting investments and boosting economic growth.

“Recognizing the potential of the agricultural sector, Governor Obaseki has prioritized its development and modernization. Through strategic initiatives such as the Edo State Agriculture Development Program, the state has witnessed increased agricultural productivity, improved food security, and a boost in rural livelihoods. “The ongoing efforts to establish the Edo Seaport will further enhance the state’s economic prospects by facilitating trade and attracting foreign direct investment.” Oni, said.

He added that his administration’s focus on infrastructure development, civil service reforms, institutional development, manpower development, agriculture, and the establishment of the Edo Seaport has no doubt set the stage for sustainable economic growth and development in the state, adding that as the governor’s tenure comes to a close, his legacy will be remembered as the most progressive, innovative, and inclusive governance, leaving Edo State better equipped for a prosperous future.
