Tunji-Ojo Pledges to Take Interior Ministry to Next Level, Says Security is Top Agenda

The Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has assured the management, staff and agencies in the Ministry of Interior that he would lead from the front even as he pledged to take the Ministry to the next level.

The Minister who formally assumed duty on Monday gave the pledge on Tuesday at a press conference at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja, adding that he is trusting the entire staff to reciprocate his gesture with trust.

He acknowledged that it is on the fulcrum of trust that the country would fulfil the policy thrust of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda mantra.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, called for robust intellectual engagement in pursuit of his duty adding that he constantly engages the management and staff to ensure a result-oriented Ministry with shared responsibilities.

Remembrance

While formally welcoming the Minister, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, said the posting of the Minister to Interior was God’s design even as she commended the Minister for hit the ground running right at the office of the Secretary of the Government of the Federation.

She assured him of cooperation and unalloyed loyalty of management and staff of the Ministry.

She also told the Minister to count on her and the management team that they are capable of making him succeed in his new assignment, she said she never tired while at work, she only tired when doing nothing.

Present at the welcome ceremony were the CGs of the 4 agencies of the Ministry, the Secretary of the board, Mr. Jar’faru Ahmed, the management team and members of staff of the Ministry.
